Hello! This is my webpage, last updated July 10, 2019.
Are you looking for someone named Alyson Burchardt? Well that’s me. I’m just married now.
ABOUT ME:
I’m currently holding the position of Visiting Assistant Professor at Wesleyan University (since Fall 2015), though I will be on the job market starting the 2020-2021 academic year. My current research lies in the area of 4-manifolds which have fundamental group isomorphic to certain right-angled Artin groups, although presently I am mainly focused on teaching.

EDUCATION:
I received a B.S. in Mathematics from Colorado School of Mines in 2008, and my Ph.D. from Brandeis University in May 2013, advised under Daniel Ruberman. My dissertation research involves minimizing the Euler characteristic of a 4-manifold with specified fundamental group a right-angled Artin group. (See research tab for a link to my paper.)
POSTGRADUATE:
After graduate school I was Britton Postdoctoral Fellow at McMaster University from Fall 2013 though Summer 2015, working with Ian Hambleton in 4-manifold theory. (See research tab for a link to our paper.) I have since been a Visiting Assistant Professor at Wesleyan University (Fall 2015 – present).
